CONSTANTA PAST AND PRESENT CITY TOUR

Tour description: This tour helps you connect the dots of the eclectic city Constanta is today. From the exquisite marble statues and artifacts of the Greek and Roman heritage to the unprecedented development of the city at the end of the 19th century and the complete redesign of the communist period – you need a local to make sense of it all.

We begin our tour with a visit to the Archaeological Museum and then move next door to see the remains of the ancient Roman mosaics. We follow Ovid, the unfortunate poet who found his end here, and find out his sad story. We continue our tour with a walk in the streets of the historical district of Constanta and slowly reach the promenade and its romantic Casino and Genoese lighthouse at the Black Sea, the landmarks of the city. On the way, we get to understand the essence of religious tolerance of Eastern Europe with four major worship places located within 300 meters of one another. The tour ends with a drive to Mamaia, Romania’s best resort on the Black Sea Coast, and some time at the beach for shopping and refreshments.
